hey baby,
you are 23weeks old today!!! how time flies...
you've been such a wonderful gal by not giving mummy any serious discomfort until today. not much of morning sickness during the 1st trimister and other pregnancy symptoms that other mtb have been experiencing. well, except for a little eposide of leg cramp saga in the middle of the night somewhere last month. :)
mummy knows you are such a contented little baby nurturing in the womb now, trying your best to grow healthy and happily. we love you more as each day passes.
You now weighs a little over one pound/ 500 grams and measures about 11.4 inches/ 29 centimeters from crown to heel. Your hearing is well established and you can make out a distorted version of mummy's voice, the beating of mummy's heart and stomach rumblings. Loud noises often heard in utero, such as the barking of a dog next door or the roar of a vacuum cleaner, probably won't bother you when you hear them outside the womb. In addition to advances in your hearing, blood vessels in your lungs are developing in preparation for breathing and you're swallowing regularly...
p.s: mummy's legs and ankles are swollen for the past few days... :(
grandma says its because of high salt intake coupled with sitting down for too long.
seems like a bout of water retention, but nothing too worrying as there's no pain and did not cause any form of immobilization while mummy is walking or driving.
daddy tucked mummy to bed last night with 2 pillows propping the legs up, and the swelling seems to have subsided a little this morning.
will read up more on the swelling and the remedies to take...
